Important Update for Road to Hāna Guests 🌺
Waiʻānapanapa State Park (Black Sand Beach) is currently partially closed due to construction, and visitor access has changed. Parking is limited, and the number of reservations available each day has been reduced. We will continue to do our best to secure reservations for every tour. Access restricted to Ho‘okipa Beach Park for state surfing championships.
Ho‘okipa Beach Park, managed by the County of Maui, will be closed to general public use and reserved only for event activities from 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, through 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026. This temporary restriction is to accommodate the inaugural Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association (HHSAA) Surfing State Championships, according to the County Department of Parks and Recreation.
