Pua'a Ka'a State Wayside Park Temporary Closure

Puaʻa Kaʻa State Wayside Park along the Hana Highway will be closed from **April 21 to May 12** for improvements. The work being done includes painting, restroom upgrades, and enhancements to pavilions and railings to improve the park’s safety and overall experience. Due to this closure, more time will be allotted at other stops along the Hana Highway, including the Waianapanapa black sand beach and additional scenic locations.

State officials ask residents, visitors, and tour companies to avoid entering the area’s parking lots and park areas during construction for their own safety and to prevent traffic congestion.
